Cut Meadow

A wet and windy morning at work, we finished a little bit early because of this. Nevertheless we had a good session.
Later on I met my friend K at Saughton Park to meet her 6 month old grandson, it was a very happy afternoon. By then the sun had come out, and we sat in the physic garden and the cosy cafe.
I noticed that the meadow in the park has now been cut back, and the cut grass removed. I presume any dropped seeds will sit through the winter and get going in the spring. In the winter months this area will be a useful habitat for small mammals, and a hunting ground for the parks kestrels.
