Through the Green Filter

I was very taken, last night, with a programme on BBC4 about "The Magic of Mushrooms" (Linked for anyone who can access iPlayer). This morning, Janet pointed out this little clump under the oak tree, and given the Abstract Thursday theme I thought I'd shoot them through the filter of the greenery in front of it.

I am very aware of Putin's provocative notion of defining how nuclear weapons might be used - by Putin's Russia against the Ukraine-supportive west - because today is Stanislav Petrov Day. Not widely noted, but on this day in 1983 he was the Russian who effectively prevented the outbreak of World War Three.

In a world increasingly at risk from humans, may we find the connectivity and interdependence of mushrooms an inspiration for peaceful coexistence.
