My Cardoon is beginning to flower!

Botanical name: Cynara Cardunculus.
I just had to walk up the garden at breakfast for some fresh air, albeit damp, with those distinctive Autumn smells, as an accompaniment. I just need my energy levels to increase now. And this sight greeted me! After all that rain, and evidently more to come……
