Best birding day ever
5 Dippers! and there was one singing before we left the area. The harlequin ducks were swimming upstream against the rather strong current , well actually throwing themselves forwards and then diving under a wave , coming back up a little further upstream . We saw them later resting on a rock after their exertions. I actually took 370 photos today and tossed most of them. I must admit I have a million dipper photos. it isn't likely I will get back here again after this trip though if I can find the spot again I will try to stop as we make our way back to the Bozeman airport after this tour ends. I haven't decided what is going to be an extra yet , though it may be a Canada aka gray jay, a most inquisitive visitor as we were having lunch.
