The one dahlia

That grew this year. The dahlia bulbs things that I dug up before winter all got dead. I have a black thumb for overwintering things. Apparently I missed this one and it has been growing since spring. Finally got a bud on it which is starting to open.

I was going to wait to photograph when it was fully open but I love the pops of green in the burgundy.

Waiting to see what happens with the rain we might get from storm Helene. Thinking of Uncle Tom, friends Sandy and Bill and the Blippers in the path, Sheila, Maura and others. Hoping the universe keeps them safe as this is predicted to have winds at 115mph.
