Shadows Fall

The plan today was to go for a walk somewhere specifically to find a Blip, as I haven't done that for a while. That didn't happen!*

Part of the reason was that I was a little late up. It was warm and cosy in the bed and out of it seemed chilly in comparison so I really had to psych myself up to start my day. By the time I'd had breakfast whilst doing Wordle and Blip comment, done a couple of wash-loads and put them upstairs for drying and had a shower including hair washing it was late in the day for going too far.

I ended up just going into town again. Meh! However I went into M&S to buy a crusty roll to eat for tea with spare chilli from last night (No cooking tonight! Hurrah!) I realised that their café had reopened after being closed for refurbishment for some time. As I'd not had coffee out for a while I decided to go in there and call it my lunch.

It looks fresher, if not significantly different, but their cake selection and cup sizes (Not in the bra department, hahaha!) were smaller and the prices higher. I had a slice of lemon drizzle cake though, and it was delicious.

My main shot is part of the display on the windowsill beside my table. The plants are fake unfortunately, though I daresay having lots of real plants would be a lot of extra work! I just liked the light and the shadow. The bars are scaffolding for the ongoing improvements.

I have included a cheeky extra of the couple at the next table. Since they'd finished eating, she was permanently on her phone. Her hubby looked very fed-up! It's not just the younger generation that can't put their phones down...

I was one of the youngest people in the café. (And I'm in my 60's!) Usually I'm the oldest one in the likes of Starbucks, Caffe Nero, etc. But currently these brands are rammed with students which is part of the reason I have not been for a coffee for a while - there has been no space!

*Tomorrow... Maybe...
