A day out in Perth
After a good night’s sleep and a very tasty breakfast , A and I picked up a map of the city and set off to explore. We visited both the Anglican and Catholic cathedrals and then walked down (the city is surprisingly hilly) to Perth Mint. The Mint was fascinating and it had some lovely jewellery but it was quite pricey. After a short coffee break we took the Riverside Walk to King’s Park. Once in the park, The Kokoda trail , a steep walk took us up to the higher level and Botanic Gardens. A great place, the Spring flowers looked lovely, and there were a number of viewpoints where we could look across the Swan River.
So far we seem to have slotted into the local timezone with no jet lag….however we have to be up at 6am tomorrow for a trip so that should be interesting.
