Forest edge

Today I found this clearing at the edge of a wood and loved the shapes and the combination of colours and textures, light and shadow. Satisfactorily sculptural. It seemed to come close to what gardeners look to achieve, but without compromising its wonderful wildness.

Also had a very nice lunch at the Trout at Itchen Abbas and photographed several herons, though at rather too much of a distance..

Now I must give my own garden a bit of water, before it dies on me. Then get down to a serious glass of wine. Enjoy the rest of Saturday x
