Packhorse Bridge

Did the old Ashness Bridge, Surprise View and Watendlath drive today. There was hardly any water in the beck at Ashness today so the scene lost a bit of its appeal but I took the customary photo of the packhorse bridge.
Then it was up the road to Surprise View. The view down over Derwentwater to Skiddaw never fails to impress.
Lastly I drove to the end of the road to Watendlath and even though it was late afternoon, I was surprised that I was the only person there. Had a lovely walk around the hamlet and to the tarn. Today’s photo is the packhorse bridge at Watendlath.
