Mud dauber wasp nest

Being as the weather was miserable, and the windows were filthy, I decided to clean them and noticed this rock hard mud nest attached to the wall.
I’m amazed it got this big without being noticed! We’ve always had smaller ones on the parasols and once on the front door, but anyway, Mr F knocked this one off and inside the grubs were still there.
Maybe they will be a tasty snack for a passing bird.
