Imperial War Museum

On my way home today I visited the Imperial War Museum. I have never been even though I lived in London Years ago. I read a lot of novels set during the war and one was about a war artist. I wanted to go and see the war artists' paintings. I found it a very emotional experience and was blown away with the paintings and photographs on display,  only a fraction of what they have. I did walk round the WW1 and WW2 galleries. I came across this research room which actually means a lot to me. When I lived in London my dad used to come down and stay with me then go to the IWM to research Algerine Minesweepers in the war as he was writing books about them. He had a residents pass as he gave my address. I assume this is where he did all his research.
I had a great journey home. I've had a fabulous weekend and will do it again.
