Today's the day ........................ to be proud

After the sort of summer we've just had, you wouldn't think that something like an olive tree would be very happy in these northern climes?

Well, all I can say is that the one we have (growing in a pot), has never looked as good as it does this year.  It must be about fifteen years old, standing a good seven or eight feet tall - and it was absolutely covered in little, white flowers in the summer.  Quite a large number of these have turned into actual olives, albeit tiny and green, and about the size of pea.

The chance of any Mediterranean-type weather from now on, is practically zero - but I think I can say that I'm inordinately proud that we've even got this far ........!
