Ruthven Barracks
After leading an easy walk around Loch Morlich, extra, the day took on a military flavour. While most folk travelled back to Glasgow I drove to Kingussie and stopped of at Ruthven Barracks, built in 1719 after the Jacobite rising. I’ve viewed it many times at a distance from the A9.
And this evening, by coincidence I’m staying at Forces Manor in Kincraig. A former shooting lodge it’s now a three-service not for profit resort dedicated to providing a break to military folk, veterans, their families, and the wider public if there is space.
