a lifetime burning

Torrential

The flight home for Faro was (predictably for the last flight on a Sunday) delayed, but I eventually arrived home to a cold and drizzly Bristol/Bath at 3am.  Predictably, I also seem to have caught a cold somewhere during the last 24 hours.  I've taken a precautionary covid test, but currently its negative, and will hopefully stay that way.

The rain here since then has been absolutely torrential.  I believe we might get a normal month's worth of rain in 24 hours.  Needless to say, local roads are flooding as the surface water drainage system fails to copy and blocks.  (I dread to think what this means for the water quality of the local watercourses as the Water Companies will be busy discharging untreated sewage into them).

In the back garden I've never seen the pond so full - it now resembles an infinity pool at the moment.  For today's blip I popped outside briefly when it wasn't coming down quite so torrentially.  I was out long enough to take just this one shot and then scuttled back indoors to dry the camera and myself.  Wherever you are, I trust that water is staying outdoors where it belongs.
