Church On The Rocks

We headed back to Loutro on the ferry again this morning just to prove we could see it without any dramas!

There are isolated little churches scattered all along the coastline, like this one built into the rocks on the coast path to Lykos, just below the ruins of an ancient settlement (see extra, which also shows the footpath we walked along on the evening we arrived)

The door of the church was locked but the second extra, taken through the window, shows how ornate the altar end is.

We visited the cafe we took shelter in on our last visit for a lunch of filo pastry pies and a salad of watermelon and the local cheese in a mint, honey and balsamic dressing. Very refreshing!
