2024 Thursday — Summer Concerts

Mr. Fun & I traveled from a cloudy coast to music on the vineyard meadow in Cambria and back to rainbows over Estero Bay.

Our afternoon was as soft as a marshmellow and as sweet and warm and savory as a fresh baked cinnamon roll. Autumn is in the air. Sunlight's slant is adding its own special sparkle. God's Creation is wonderful.

It looked like rain and the air was cold when we left our house on the coast; Mr. Fun & I were celebrating that 36 years ago God gave us the title of "grandparents." A baby girl added glitter and gold to our lives. Ashly Nicole was born.

We were delighted when we arrived to the vineyard to find sunlight in the meadow. Throughout the summer season the shade from the tall trees changes considerably from June to September; it's always beautiful. The barnyard animals, the field flowers, the umbrellas... the outdoor wonder is magnified as people begin filling the meadow.

Some afternoons the temp requires only shirt sleeves; other times a sweatshirt provides adequate warmth. God's beauty is everywhere ... in the lush green lawn, the farm animals, the colorful flowers, the breeze in the trees, the dogs running free, the laughter of the children, and the conversation of the adults... and the dancers, just sprinkled here and there throughout the meadow moving to the melody and the beat of the drums. I love to dance; I think Jesus does too.

"Happy" resides in that meadow, and for those of us who know the Creator, His joy is obvious in the wonder of the outdoors and the music His Creation is making and enjoying. I feel delight when I am there; I can only imagine what my Father's Heaven will feel like .. . and that will be home.
