Unity, Not Uniformity!

We gathered at FBC this morning under slightly overcast skies that teased us with thoughts of rain, but did not bless us with any.  Nonetheless, we were gathered to offer worship and praise to God Who is sovereign and holds everything in His hands and to fellowship with one another, to offer comfort and compassion to those in our midst who are struggling with life issues and to point any who may not know Jesus to the One who paid a terrible price on the cross for our sin, so that we could spend eternity in heaven with Him.  We began our service with voices raised in congregational song after which Pastor Wes gave the welcome.  The choir, orchestra and all our talented accompanists continued the worship with a rousing rendition of " When I Don't Know What To Do" with Gabe on the solo parts.  The congregation joined in a few more songs as we sought to prepare our hearts for the message that God had laid on Pastor Wes's heart,  Over the past few weeks, in the first three chapters of Ephesians we had learned who we are in Christ, so Chapter 4 started out by telling us that each one of us as believers has a calling to live our lives to do and be what God wants us to be through the power of the Holy Spirit living within us.  We are to do this with humility and kindness with patience and tolerance in love in order to preserve and protect the unity of the Holy Spirit which is far greater than any man-made unity.  Pastor Wes laid it all out much better than I can and you can see it on the Live-stream......
