Show Time

Today I visited my dad's bachelor cousin in hospital. He is 74 and lives alone in town here and I had visited him on Monday at his house. On Monday evening, he collapsed in his bathroom and was not discovered until almost lunchtime on Tuesday. He has been in hospital since and the doctor thinks he had a mild stroke. He is using a walking frame as he is wobbly on his feet and is getting lots of TLC from staff and visitors and phone calls. During my visit, we both ended up in tears as he told me how frightened he was at the time as he was unable to get up and get to the phone to call for help...and also frightened about it happening again. When I got home I dragged out my photo album and found this photo that he mentioned remembering. My "fairy floss hat" he called it, that I got new to wear to the local show that year. Feeling nostalgic and just a tad sad how life turns out for some.
