They're back

Haven't seen the magpies about much for a few weeks, but heard a huge cackling and yammering today and looked across to see seven, yes, seven, lined up on the roof ridge opposite. Alas, by the time I'd got the camera there were only these two left (one is only just visible behind a chimney pot) - I guess they were establishing their territorial rights for next year.

Seven for a secret that's never to be told.



I was thinking a lot about my father today as it's 80 years ago that the battle of Arnhem was raging.
