Matchbox Toys
... from the 1950s. I think the tipper lorry was my first Matchbox toy, although I'm not sure. They all date back to my preschool toy box.
I remember putting things inside the open-backed "Matchbox Removal Service" truck. I like how the London bus advertises "Buy "Matchbox" Series". And the yellow car I loved for its colour: an American Ford Station Wagon. All Made in England by Lesney.
As it's been raining heavily all day, it seemed the prefect opportunity for a little nostalgia. Another rainy day perhaps I'll share my Dinky and Corgi toys. Some of those are a similar vintage, but most date from the early 1960s.
