Staithes

A perfect day in September.
From Saltburn, we took the bus down the coast to Staithes and had coffee overlooking the pretty harbour. We then set off to walk along the Cleveland Way coastal footpath back up to Saltburn. It was about 9 or 10 miles, but involving a fair bit of climbing and descent.
The climb out of Staithes at the start of the walk was fairly dramatic, but the view from above the harbour in the first extra is spectacular.
The second extra is a panorama of the village of Skinningrove, about 1/2 way through the walk. It is an old mining village, from where 6.2 million tons of ironstone were extracted during the boom years of mining.
