A crazy day

Last night we had a water leak from the shower. I noticed water dripping through the kitchen ceiling from the bathroom above. I turned the water off and emptied the pipes so I could at least go to bed without having a ceiling on the floor by morning.

I had to have today off work to try and sort it as no water was not an option for long. I tried to get an emergency plumber through insurance but that was like hitting a brick wall. I then contacted my very good plumber but unfortunately he was too busy to fit me in as well.

I decided to attack the problem myself and  had success after Internet searches, trips to plumbing centres and eventually speaking to a knowledgeable chap at the shop where we purchased a bathroom suite from.

I worked on it all morning, through lunch and as I was waiting for the grouting to dry I managed to pick Orla up from school and had 15 minutes in the park.

I finished the shower by about six and turned the water back on. All seems good, so fingers crossed it stays that way.

I had to have a bath which I think I've only done twice at this house as the grout and sealant needs a day.

An eventful day which ended well, which is good as its Orla's birthday weekend and we have a party tomorrow and people coming to ours after.
