Container Art...

Saturday, dull and cold..little bit of sun late in the day..

I know that these containers have probably been blipped alot before, but I have always meant to get a shot of them.

They are down at Sumner, a suburb here in Christchurch, and I went to take Banjo there this afternoon for a big walk on the beach.

As you can see, there is a long row of shipping containers that have been put in place to protect traffic and people from any more rockfall , should we have more Earthquakes. The beach is just across the road.
The cliffs behind them fell away dramatically during our big EQ, and the houses sitting above just fell away too, some are just perched on the edge exposed to the elements smashed up as they were on the day of the EQ's nearly 3yrs ago. It is too dangerous for the owners to go in to retreive anything or repair the houses.

So, on some of these containers are displayed canvas's of Art from local artists, and I think they are great...I especially love the Elephant one.
