Clydesdales at Erewhon Station

It's been a grand day up here in Canterbury High Country. A very early morning start meant capturing the vibrant sunrise at L. Heron. Much photography followed, while en route to Erewhon Station. One of the oldest high country stations in the South Island, Erewhon has connections to Samuel Butler. It's so incredibly remote that it was named Erewhon, which is Nowhere spelt backwards!

While at Erewhon we went for a two hour ride with these wonderful Clydesdales working horses, which are a vital part of Erewhon's everyday working life.
