Western Garter Snake

After lunch I went out with the Frenchies into the backyard.   
A small 12" garter snake was making its way across the lawn, likely going to the goldfish pond for a drink.  
I scooped it up for a closer look, then set him back on course and snapped a photo.
Sure enough it disappeared into the bricks alongside the pond.
