Saltaire wander
Backblip for Wednesday 18/9. Main image of the view from the bridge to Roberts Park at Saltaire. Dental appointment in Shipley today so 2 buses caught. I was a little early, so alighted a little way before Saltaire and walked the rest of the way. All clear for another year, but my dentist is going on maternity leave, so yet another change of dentist for a while! Afterwards I walked down to Saltaire village and had a look around Salts Mill and then into Roberts Park (extras). Lovely to sit in the sunshine with a coffee. Decided to walk back up to the canal and head for home. Very quiet apart from a few cyclists and a few people getting lunch from the "Spud Boat" moored at Hirst Wood. I reached Dowley Gap and my annoying heel pain had returned so I veered off to the main road to get a bus back to town. 3 buses cancelled so in the time I had waited I could have walked back there, and I realised that the walk back to the main road was probably almost as far as if I had continued along the canal! Never mind. Bus home and then a short walk down the village to meet friends for drinks.
