It's only a few days since my last post, but it's quite difficult to get out of the habit after 16 years!

I walked up to the allotment to water, although if I'd known about the storm we'd get an hour later I wouldn't have bothered. There were four courgette flowers in good condition so I picked them.

I haven't cooked or eaten the flowers before but, oh my goodness, they're delicious! I couldn't believe it! I didn't make a batter, just washed and coated them in gram flour before frying in rapeseed oil. I ate them with homemade red lentil dhal, another delicious first. Yum. Yum. Yum.

Four hours later and the storm rumbles on, rain, lightening, thunder.
