Black Darter

A morning visit to Cors Bodgynedd is absolutely blissful. I just love this tiny reserve and can’t believe we didn’t discover it until last year.  We’ve now actually joined North Wales Wildlife Trust - who run this reserve - so have many more such places on our radar.

Beautiful at any time, on a sunny morning this place is magical, full of late summer flowers and the start of autumn fungi. Views across the lake to the mountains are stunning with perfect reflections, and dragonflies flit back and forth, just skimming past our heads. One, in fact, lands on my particularly jazzy leggings and just stays for  what seems like several minutes.

It’s then on to Meols where G wants to complete a few garden tasks. Daniel is ‘home alone’ at the moment as Solveig has very bravely flown off to Hamburg with Lili on her own. She’s spending the week with her mum and grandparents. Lili apparently took the whole thing in her stride and Solveig coped admirably. So we’re spending a couple of days keeping Daniel company.

Today’s main is - I think- a female Black Darter, with another view in extras. There’s also a collage of fungi finds. And thanks so much for the generous comments, stars and hearts for yesterday’s sunset!
