Zadar, Croatia

Today is the day we fly to Zadar! Although it’s a late in the day flight so all day to get organised. All the toiletries decanted into hand luggage size. All the clothes rolled up for my small Ryanair size underseat rucksack. It’s amazing how much you can pack in.

Watered all the houseplants, packed up Lucca stuff for her holidays to Laura and the boys. She will wonder what’s happening!

Left at 3 and no hold ups on the road. Security was quiet and no issues. We set up camp at Pret with a great view of the runway. Coffee and croissant and I purchased a perfume for the week.

The flight was a good smooth 2:40 mins to Zadar. Seemed to have booked seats (no 16) with extra legroom at the emergency exits. Had no idea and they weren’t any dearer than the others. There was just me and another guy so he took the window and we had a seat between us. Same with S at the other aisle. Before we knew it we arrived at Zadar and it was quick through security as it’s a tiny airport so only our flight.

It was 10:30 their time and we walked out into the airport bus a short 15 mins into the centre for 5€ each.

Short walk to our apartment 5 floors up with a view over to the old town.

Why did I pick Zadar? First time to Croatia and flights were cheap. It’s also a quieter town than the likes of Split and Dubrovnik.

Unpacked and bed. Shattered!
