The Italian Forum
This morning I went on a walk around Leichhardt, run by the Historic Houses Association.
We met in the Italian Forum, a grand complex in the heart of Leichhardt, which has been in decline for decades.
In the early 2000s it was a vibrant centre, with many shops and restaurants, but today it's a white elephant.
Sydneysiders will know the story, but if you're interested this is a comprehensive article.
I didn't photograph it as I find it all too sad,
Its decline has also extended to the buildings themselves, and I spotted this poster in one of the few shops in the arcade.
The arches around the piazza are crumbling and have been partially removed, and this poster is a plea to restore them.
