The View From The Office
I picked Bags up this morning and we headed into the ERI to be with SWMBO.
She was much improved from yesterday with just a small 'drop' at one side of her mouth and the speech was coming back. Very sleepy of course.
Every time she woke up or we came back from a coffee break etc. we could see an improvement.
There was still confusion and picking the wrong word when given a choice by the speech therapist (although Bags and I could see that was understanding what she was being asked ....she was just picking the wrong book from the shelf).
We left her sleeping and went home for for dinner (very ably cooked by The Cygnet) and then headed back in with Squirrel in tow (she had been feigning a headache and trying to get off school in the morning .... worrying about Nanna). She was delighted when she got a lovely smile and it really put her mind at rest.
The CT scan showed that the surgery (a new technique by going into the vein/artery and pulling it out) to remove the clot on the brain had gone well and if St John's has done as they are meant to and kept her allotted bed available she should be transferred back there tomorrow .... which will make things so much easier.
Fingers crossed.
After dropping Bags and Squirrel at home I have spent the rest of the evening phoning her aunt in France and cousin in Manchester to let them know that we have had to put the holiday on hold (I will need to see about cancelling flights and car hire through the travel insurance) and updating other family members.
