Above And Beyond...

High Tide

About 10.30am we set off from home to Chepstow (Wales, UK) to cycle across the M48 Severn Bridge to Severn Beach, nr Bristol (England) where we enjoyed a cuppa in Shirley's Cafe.

Crossing the bridge, the wind was blowing the bikes and on getting to the flood defence wall at Aust, there were signs about flooding. The River Severn was at high tide, and I suppose with the forecast thunderstorms and torrential rain the worse was feared.

The photo' I like best from the ride is the view from Severn Beach of The Second Severn Crossing looking towards Wales. The driftwood from the high tide adds a lot of interest.

We were home by 2.30pm and the painter was just packing up so we had a cuppa and a chat before he left. By 4pm, the forecast thunder and lightening arrived. Bad weather in for a couple of days I believe.

Good to have made the most of the day. We're over our local tonight to see in the weekend - enjoy yours!
