Summer Scents and Tastes

We had a garden club program on herbs, basil is my favorite, the scent brings summer back, all year long. This bowl of tomatoes and eggplant combined with onion, zucchini and garlic will be a dinner casserole tonight. The tomatoes soon will be red, but tasteless as I have to buy grocery store ones as summer quickly winds down.

I love autumn, the drawing in and soups for dinner, but there is absolutely nothing like the fresh tomatoes of summer.

This day came in with rain, not enough, but more is expected.
