Ghost Graffiti

I headed into town to order a new radiator for the kitchen. The premises were close to the parish church of St Elphin, so I called there.

Whilst central the church is a little out the way and has been graffitied along one side. Not good to see although as can be seen in the extra the culprits (two different groups I think) aren’t shy of identifying themselves. Some of the graffiti is in Romanian - one phrase translates as “I love my wonderful wife”.

Graffiti isn’t a new thing, people have always wanted to make their mark, as can be seen in the main image. At the back of the church there is a section where older graffiti can be found, carved into the stonework. It is heavily weathered, but the fine calligraphy is still apparent.
