Combine harvester at Stancombe Ash farm
I returned to Bisley to top up my stock at the farm shop. As the weather was so warm and sunny I decided to go to the nearby lane leading to the head of the Slad valley. Harvesting is in full flow, with a blue tractor mowing a green crop on one side of the road, and this combine harvester a couple of fields away on a separate farm, Stancombe Ash.
I noticed a buzzard fly down to the cut grass behind the blue tractor and realised it had found an animal which sadly was probably hurt by the mowing. I tried to photograph it on the ground and then when it flew up with the prey into a nearby copse, but the detail was very poor as it was so far away.
