Up a lazy river ....

In the noonday sun.....

Do you remember that one? Well it came to mind as I walked along the river this noon with the dogs frolicking in the water at every opportunity. The water is crystal clear and you can see the stones just beneath the surface and for the first time since I moved here in 1974 I believe you could walk across the river at this point. We could have stayed there for ages with Cara swimming when it was deep enough and Bruce guddling for stones when it wasn't. As for me i was thoroughly enjoying being able to walk beside the water and in the shade of all the trees while the sun beamed all around and made deep shadows when it managed to creep past the foliage.

No one can complain this year that we haven't had a summer!
