A week is a long time....

... in sweet pea growing. This time last week I struggled to get enough flowering stems to enter three classes at the show -let alone the eight I'd hoped to enter. A week later and I'm cutting over 100 stems a day. Tomorrow its layering day - the plants are grown as cordons and when they reach the top of their 7 foot canes each plant has to be untied and laid down and the top three feet tied back in. Its a slow and tricky process.
