Zahalkaworld

A mid-week cultural outing to the National Art School to see a 40-year survey of Anne Zahalka’s photo-media work. I loved her early stuff: Hotel Suite, staged photos of guests, staff and views from the Sofitel, Melbourne, in 2008; Open House, shots of friends in their kitchens and living rooms in 1995; and Bondi: Playground of the Pacific in 1989. The most well-known of her Bondi images is The New Bathers, a restaging of Australian Beach Pattern (1940) with real people. The beach ball was also on display.

Thanks for hosting BobsBlips.
