Le Shuttle

Day 3 of our holiday and IAD's 65th birthday.

There seems to be a bit of a transport theme developing here.

I wonder why we have to adopt French names for great innovations that were at least partly British. Le Shuttle and Concorde are two that come to mind.

I'm a great fan of travelling on The (Le) Shuttle. It's a quick and easy way to get to France and you can use Tesco Club Card vouchers. It proved to be the best part of today's journey which in summary was:
Shuttle 35 minutes
Calais to North Paris 2 hours 40 minutes
North Paris to South Paris 3 hours (stop start in searing heat)
South Paris to Bourges 2 hours.

Tomorrow we are due to reach our destination near Beziers and meet up with our children and grandchildren for a family holiday.
