Mandela Day

Mandela day and a group of us went to help sort out a storeroom in Khayelitsha. The room was small but jammed with all sorts of useless stuff people often donate to NGO's who then have no idea how to dispose of broken electronics, etc. I can never understand why people don't either repair the item before donation or else simply dump it themselves! We emptied the room, sorted the useful from the junk, scrubbed the room and returned the good, making sure we labelled all the boxes, cupboards etc. and loaded my car to the brim with recycling! Just before we left we did some laughter yoga with the programme staff. What a delightful day!
How wonderful to do this in honour of our beloved Madiba, a day to celebrate and embrace change!
