Mixed Seasoning

Is it Spring?
or
Is it Autumn?

This Pyracantha doesn't seem know.

First of all, this bush didn't all flower at once in the spring.  Most of it flowered as usual but didn't form very many berries because there were almost no pollinators.  Two branches however, flowered a week or so later and those have produced many berries.

Now, because of the weather patterns, it thinks it is spring again and the parts with few berries are starting to produce flowers.  My blip therefore shows those unseasonable blooms against a background of a few berries.

As a side note, I will mention that next door has a pear tree that usually bears many fruits.  Although it flowered as usual this spring, a lack of pollinators meant it only set half a dozen fruits.  That tree has not been fooled into flowering out of season unlike my Pyracantha.
