... building at the corner of Glassford Street and the Trongate dates from 1903. It was designed by the Edinburgh architect T. P. Marwick for the National Bank. The building is grade A listed.
A plaque.on the wall (see extra) indicates that on this site stood Shawfield Mansion where in 1745 Prince Charles Stuart had stayed.
