Spotted
I've heard a woodpecker drilling in the nearby trees recently and today I spotted it. I got a photo after waiting patiently for it to appear from its hiding place behind the tree trunk. When editing, I saw that it had red spots on its read. Googling didn't help, but I saw that juvenile greater spotted woodpeckers have a red head and the adults a black head, so I wondered if this was a juvenile growing up.
I washed the bedding and towels this morning and got it all dried, taking the opportunity to change to my autumn duvet. I did a lot of gardening this morning including digging out the hostas from a small bed as they just get eaten by the slugs and snails. I sat in the garden briefly, but it clouded over. So I did a mountain of ironing instead and watched Back To Black on Netflix - a great performance by Marisa Abela as Amy Winehouse and fab music obviously, but such a difficult watch seeing this amazingly talented singer / songwriter self destruct.
