Bamburgh Castle
I was supposed to pick up a new hire car today but it hadn't arrived from Enterprise. With time on my hands we decided to have a ride up into Northumberland.
I photographed some Borders Buses vehicles parked up in Wooler while MrsDB shopped around to see how much she could sneak onto the Visa card (she claimed she had left hers at home by accident. Ha!)
We took a ride over to Bamburgh and down to the coast to Seahouses for a late lunch. It was very late as the seaside town was rammed, not an empty parking space anywhere. After a crawl around we moved on to a farm shop and cafe near Ellingham - same story. Everywhere was full of wealthy pensioners.
It's part of the country I don't know too well and I find it hard to believe that Enterprise still rent hire cars that don't have sat-navs fitted so my navigator, MrsDB had to reluctantly persevere with an ancient OS 1" paper map, turned upside down of course. To cheer herself up from such a chore she blamed the driver for all the wrong turns she told him to take!
