Foiled ... then conquered!
Following on from yesterday’s technology irritations, today produced yet another. My mono laser printer developed a serious fault which rendered it unuseable. I’ve only had it for just over two years, but it wasn’t worth repairing, so I’ve had to order a new printer. I went for a different make because the previous one, despite being made by a reputable manufacturer, was a disaster from day one.
The new printer comes highly recommended, and should be delivered tomorrow. I don’t use a laser printer very often because I use my trusty ink jet for printing photographs and greetings cards. However, I do love adding foil embellishments to my cards and these can only be done using a laser printer. I print off greetings on a sheet of paper on the laser printer, then lay a strip of gold, silver or coloured foil on top of the greeting and run the sheet through the laminator. The heat from the laminator allows the foil to stick to the powder left by the laser print, and leaves a beautiful foiled impression.
Having spent the morning sorting out that little problem, I then went for a walk on the Green in the sunshine with Smithers to blow away the cobwebs. (Another view in extras.)
