Oldshoremore Beach
As the day started out bright and sunny, we headed west for the day to North West Sutherland. The forecaster said on the radio that the temperature on the west of Scotland would reach 28 degrees. How wrong could he be, We reached Ullapool and the sun went in behind thick clouds. Nothing daunted, we were going to have our day in the sun, so we carried on to Kinlochbervie in North West Sutherland. From there we took the single track road to the road end, where we walked with a picnic past the cemetery ( they put a lot of these by the beaches in the west) to the beach. Just as we finished our lunch, the clouds broke and the sun shone though. The whole beach was transformed into an idyllic white sanded heaven. We walked the length of the beach and back and the thought struck me, I couldn't get any better than this no matter where we went. We were at Calgary Beach on Mull a couple of weeks ago, but this beat Calgary hands down! So my blip for today, I give you Oldshoremore Beach in North West Sutherland. Have a great weekend everyone, mine has already started!
