Signs of autumn

Here we have a sycamore leaf that I picked up yesterday and four hazel nuts. The trees don't bristle with nuts, you have to look for them. These mature nuts came from a different tree to the one I featured the other day. Apparently you can pick green ones and allow them to age gracefully at home. They are only edible when they have hard brown shells. (And no. I haven't.)
