Walk at Hayfield

A very pleasant wander around the low level walks at Hayfield.

A chat with one of the people who live at Hill Houses and he was pleased that we had seen a Spotted Flycatcher on his roof. He told us all about the recent passage and arrivals of birds in the area.

The photo is a glimpse of Kinder Scout over the reservoir dam. On the the left the very visible scar of a path is the way I descended off the top on 21st August.  It’s not a route I ever intend to use again!

Additional photo is a Common Hawker dragonfly which posed well for us at the house near the Sheep Wash on Kinder Road.

We had a good chat with a man who was trying to repair some of the massive pot-holes on Kinder Road. Even as he was working we twice had to get out of the way of a giant tractor and trailer as wide as the single track road.
