Silent Voices Continues to Grow
I borrowed Sue's car to collect Donna Hayes, to drive her to a coffee shop where we could get Wifi for a Zoom call and where we could meet Michelle Darr, leaning on Donna's shoulder.
We are continuing from our last meeting on July 17. Michelle is married to a Palestinian, and her adult daughter is married to a Palestinian from Gaza. Michelle and her children want to develop a Silent Voices for Gaza, in cooperation with other Palestinian-Americans. Donna, Solamon, Open Signal, and I all feel that's a great idea. Meanwhile, Solamon is continuing his work applying for a grant to develop the original script, concerned with Silent Voices in Portland, as a stage play.
Katmeow Garcia, from Open Signal, showed us their first draft of a Trailer for the existing version of Silent Voices. We hope that having a good Trailer will be useful in applying for grant funding. We are all filled with gratitude: for Donna's original idea, created as a way to deal with her grief after her grandson was killed by police; for Katmeow, working on the Trailer in their spare time; for Michelle and Solamon, carrying the torch forward as Donna and I hand it over.
I'm still feeling sketchy. I need to leave comments off till I'm up to responding.
