Warkworth Castle

Its those Percys again, and, another castle blip - this time Warkworth which was {warning - gross oversimplification} involved in the Anglo Scottish wars, the wars of the Roses and the 1640s Civil war ... things are rather more peaceful now :-)

Gill found a really good cycle route around from Warkworth to Alnmouth, on the coastal cycle path, and then back via the castle along quiet lanes.   A morning coffee break at Alnmouth Golf Club was very good with a view across the first hole and over toward the sea. Ice cream and coffee at the castle and we are now pitched just along from Seahouses so we can go to Inner Farne tomorrow.
